Massey, Minister of Lands, has approved of the control of the Waiopehu scenic reserve being vested in the Levin Borough Council. The Council received an intimation to this effect from the UnderSecretary of Lands at its meeting last evening. One of ' the conditions that tlie board (the council) shall meet for the transaction of any business con nected with the reserve after the conclusion of tlie ordinary business of the council. The Otaki party's concert in aid oi the Wounded Soldiers' Fund on Wednesday night promises to be the best Levin has ever had. The party comprises in all eighteen performers, '•n----cluding the well-known New Zealand 'first prize competition performer, Mr Ernest Luks, of Wellington, who is a treat in himself. The Misses Taliiwi who are so well and favourably 'known to Levin concert patrons, also are of the party. Every item on the program will be a good one and the Century Hall sftould be taxed to its utmost, as the tickets art) sel'mg very rapidly. .

The dance held by the Levin Hockey Jlub in the Druids' ilall last night >n Behalf of the Wounded.Soldiers' and cjTeir Fund was successEul.
