Levin's Grand Carnival
"THE DAI." WHAT WILL HAPPEN? Sharp at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow the marshal (Major , Burlinson) will move the Grand Procession off from the Levin railway station en (route via Oxford and Queen steete to the . Levin Recreation grounds.' The' procession will consist of brass bands , (three), pipe ba,nd, Dark Town Band, 'so!tool children in fancy costumes with flag 6 and banners, decorated motor cars, motor cycles, bicycles, lorries with tableaux on, decorated horse vehicles of all descriptions, lodgemeii with their regalia, firemen with appliances, cadets and territorials, Maoris in native dress, hundreds of people in humorous and j>atriotic' costumes, pierrots and pierrettes, Miss iMoKegg our "Queen" candidate in h»r beautifully-decorated motor car, the fourteen "Queen" candidates from Wellington, and many novel attractions that will go to make up the biggest and brightest procession Levin has ever seen. The town ifrom the Grand Hotel to the Borough* Chambers, and part of . Queen-street,, will be gaily decorated with flags and bunting kia-ilv lent by ] the decoration- committee of the Wellington Carnival. After tbo-fMWes&'ori 4 has marched into its place ~'o»-. the grounds the carnival will be officially opened. On the grounds there will be tea-rooms, sandwlclT rooms tea and •cfriiik cafes, sweet*.- fruity -tobacco, juuible, flower and produce stalls, Aunt hoop-la, Bunty pulls the strings, mock court, baby shows, baby auction, guessing competition, joy rTtles, gipsy and entertainment tents and humorous sports events of great variety. There ■will be fun for everybody, young and old. The carnival executive have planned for the entertainment ot at least 2000 people and feel certain they 'will notbe far out in their estimate, but 1 o make sure, they- invite everyone to do their best to see that their neighbour and family roll out in strong force as the whole of the proceeds are to be handed to the fund for our wounded soldiers and sailors. The proccssion commences at 10.30 a.m. sharp from the 'Levin railway station.
