There was an interesting story attached to a motor car sold by Mr James Dykes in Wellington last week (says the Post). It was included in -the sale of aiT extraordinary accumulation of unclaimed goods. The vehicle was described as an American six-cylinder racing oar, of 90 h.p.. and was said to have been left by an American millionaire, who was too tired to bother about shipping it back to the States. He just left it on the whart. The oar realised £360. It had probablv cost £1700. Professor Cardston announced at last night's concert that the amount taken at the gates on the first day of ttoft Wellington Carnival was £1040. Sharland's Baking Powder is bound to rise. Thai is why so many thousands use and praise it. Cosfe less than others.—Advt. Scones and cakes ar* always light and nourishing v, : ert baked with that superior compound—&!i;;Hand's Baking Powder. Most economical you can bay.—Advt.
