Horowhenua facing Club
The adjourned meeting of the lloroiv'henua Racing Club uas held at the Town Hall on Saturday evening under the presidency of the -Mayor, Mr li. R. Gardener. There was a smaller attendance than at the previous meeting. 'Mr K. S. Lancaster, chairman of the committee set up to confer with the Pat'k Company reported that the committee hail resolved that, the offer made b,v the Park Company be not. entertained. The "committee had inspected the racecourse that afternoon, and offered if the racing cluh was given the .grounds this year to give the Park Company any* surplus over alter all expenses had 'been paid, provided that the company put the racecourse and 'buildings in older. The Park Company liad agreed to that offer. .. On the moti in «f Mr Lancaster that the eoniinittee's report be adopted a long 'and involved discussion took l<lace. On n showing of hands the report, was adopted by a large majority, ami the agreement made between the Park Company and the committee endorsed. A -large number of now members were nominated and the mooting was adjourned, for the ejection ol officers, till next Friday evening.
