The wheat market is firm, but with little business doing. A few sales are 'being made by merchants to fill requirrnents in other parts of the Dominion, but there is practically no wheat offering by growers. Those who have not disposed of their wheat are firm holders and generally are asking is at country stations.

No oats are forthcoming ironi growers, and the market keeps very firm. Owing to the scarcity oi supplies, oaten chaff is in good demand from the North Island.

The potato market has aclvanced as the offerings are now limited, the ml-

ing prices being £4 os to £4 7s (3d. at country stations, according to distance. Cowgrass seed is now offering more freely, and although the crop is a short one, prices are low in consequence of heavy importations. The prices being paid are Gd. and 7d per lb.
