The wheat market is firm, but with little business doing. A few sales are 'being made by merchants to fill requirrnents in other parts of the Dominion, but there is practically no wheat offering by growers. Those who have not disposed of their wheat are firm holders and generally are asking is at country stations.

No oats are forthcoming ironi growers, and the market keeps very firm. Owing to the scarcity oi supplies, oaten chaff is in good demand from the North Island.

The potato market has aclvanced as the offerings are now limited, the ml-

ing prices being £4 os to £4 7s (3d. at country stations, according to distance. Cowgrass seed is now offering more freely, and although the crop is a short one, prices are low in consequence of heavy importations. The prices being paid are Gd. and 7d per lb. WELLINGTON PRODUCE MARKET Messrs Leary and Co., Ltd., Allen street, report wholesale prices as follow : Fowl's wheat, prime 7s 7d per bushel; fowl's barley, Cms 3d; Cape barley, seed Gs Gd; feed peas, prime Gs to 6s 6d; partridge peas, 7s Gd bushel; Prussian blue peas Bs, maize 6s 9d; oats 4s lid to 5s per bushel; chaff, oatensheaf, per ton £8 to £9; hay £7; flour in sacks £18; oatmeal £22; Bran, £9 5s pollard, £10 ss; onions, jN ew Zealand, £5 5s to £5 10s per tor.; potatoes, white skinned table, £5 15s to £6 5s per ton; bacon all best factory sides, 9id per lb; hams, 9Jd rolls 10Jd; shoulders, bacon, 7^d; cheese factory medium.
