FRUIT. Iho manager of the Horowhenua Fruitgrowers' Association, Mr D. ■Smart, reports for the week ending iy 28th Inst.;—-Apples were in very short supply with good demand. About fifty or sixty cases could be sold at once. Sales were made at from (is to 7s (Jtl per case. Xo pears or quinces •»vere placed on the market during tlfi.s week; the season tor the latter fruit lias closed now. There was a good demand for onions in smal' quantities at Id per lb. Potatoes are selling freely at 9s per sack.
