We occupied a group of Louses near the cemetery which the Germane 'firmly held. Afterwards we carried by assault the German trenches along the road to Moulinulon, south-east of Ablain' We also captured large German earthworks in the direction of Souchez ' after heavy fighting, the enemy sustaining a serious defeat. Petrograd reports that in the region oJ Shavli the Russians on Tuesday and Wednesday were successful and progress was made south-east of Muraviewo, the Shavli line, and the Lower 'Debiesa. The 'Russians repulsed the enemy's offensive at Rossieny, capturing several hundred prisoners and automobiles an dother trophies. Bobra, on the enemy'e right on Tuesday, was bombarded with heavy artillery. In the iregion of Oeaowlecz the enemy attempted a fruitless offensive under cover of asphyxiating -gae, east of Jedwabno. Several sectors on the Narew front were active with, artillery and rifle firing. In the region of the Vistula and the Bzura the Russian Light Infantry bayonetfed sixty of the enemy in a successful skirmish with the pickets, and the survivors w&re made prisoners. In the direction of Opatow the enemy made barren attacks with great forces. In Galicia on Tuesday and Wednesday night the enemy attacked on the whole front of the Upper Vistula and on the left bank of the San, but everywhere were repuleed with great lose. The intense stubborn bat#e on both banks of the San and between Przemysi and the river czowka, and between i*rzeinysl and the great marshes of the Dniester continues. In the (region beyond the Dniester on Tuesday the enemy opened a determined offensive on the whole
front of the great marshes of the Dniester to Dolina. On this and the following days the enemy suffered enormous losses, but nowhere was successful.
