Mr and Mrs U. R. Gardener. of Levin, attended and explained the methods of tTie organisation. A committee was formed, of which Mr S. W. Carter was chosen chairman and Mr 4. Bovis secretary.
A hoy named John Ryan met with a nasty accident on Sunday night. He. was foolishly interfering wifli one of the street lamps and put a light to the acetylene generator. An explosion followed which inflicted serious injuries to the lower part of his face. A doctor wa.s called in and stitched up the wound.
