Levin Stock Sales
At "their Lovin sale 011 Friday last (Messrs Dalgoty ami Co., Ltd., report) they offered a good entry of sheep and u small yarding ot cattle. The average quality of the sheep which came forward was exceptionally good, and for most of the lines submitted there was keen competition. On account of Mr M. H. E. Uorringe they sold 370 good skinned 2- and 4-tooth wethers at 20s (jd; 140 2-tooth wethers at 18s Id and 240 empty ewes at 12b Gd. Other sales were as under:— Sheep.—Small lambs os 4d, empty owes 8s (id to i)s 2d, fat ewes 19s -lit to 20s, light fat wethers 21s Gd. Cattle.—Springing heifers £8 12s Gd, fat cows £6 10s to £0 12s, light-weight bullocks £10 5s to £10 los, mixed-sex Polled Angus yearlings tfos; springing cows £5 6s. WAIKANAE STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and (Jonipany, Ltd., report having held their monthly sale at the Waikanae yards on Tuesday, 18th inst., when they offered a good yarding of sheep and a medium entry of cattle. Competition all through was dull, and in a great many instances owners' reserves were not reciohed. The principal sales effected' were:— Sheep.—Fat 0-tooth wethers 255; small 2-tooth 13s (id; forward empty cues 17s 9d. Cattle.—Store cows £3 16s; lightweight fat bullocks £9 is (3d; culled cows and calves £2 12s.
