London, May 10 A Zeppelin flew over the Marine Pin . ado at Southend. A bomb missed the gasworks, hut wrecked a house in York, road, injuring a soldier who was asleep. Several explosions shattered the windows within half a mile. A bomb missed St. .Krkenwald's Ohurch on a conspicuous hill-top. and another fired the buildings at a builder's yard near St. Erkenwald's Another Domb wrecked a house at Prittlewell and Mrs Whitewell was killed in leaping from ilie window. Her husband was injured severely. A dozen outbreak* of lire occurred at Westeliff. Attempt's lo drop bombs on the gasworks at I.eight failed. Bombs were dropped all round Queen Mary's Hospital and also at C-anvey Island. The Zeppelin dropped upwards of eighty bombs and fled seawards when sighted by an aeroplane at Sheerness.
