LEVIN STOCK SALES,
Messrs Abraham and \Yilliams. Ltd., report:- At Levin on Friday we submitted a fair entry of sheep and a yarding of cattle to a large attendance of buyers. Bidding throughout wa6 fairly brisk and we have to report a very successful sale the bulk of the yarding changing hands at satisfactory prices. We quote:— Sheep.—Fat ewes 19s 4d. 19s lOd, 20s, 23s 3d to 24s 9"d; fat wethers 226 9d, 22e lid, to 23s 4d ; "fat woolly lambs 21s; fat shorn lanilbs 13s (id; forward wethers 20s, 20s Id to 21s 8d: forward ewe« 14s; shorn lambs 7p Bd. 7s lOd to 9s Id. Cattle.—Fat cows £7 ss, £7 fls. £7 ?6; forward cow 6 £5 ss, £5 10s. £5 16«; 3 and 4-year steers £7 10s, £7 lis (VI. £8, £8 2s fid; 3-year steers £7 10s; 3-year steers (low condition) £6, £6 is; 2-year dairy heifers in calf £4 13s; heifers close to profit £7 10s, £8, £9; store cows £1. £2 2s. £2 4s 6d, £2 12s Gd. £3 Is; mother-reared wean®r heifers 26s 6d, 29s 6d; steers 356; bulls £7 15s.
Pigs.—Practically all lots were sokf under the hammer at the following prices: Stores 10b, lis , 14s. Los 6d; weaners 3s, 4s 6d, 6s. 9s; porkers 27e 6d, 29b, 30b. 346 6d. 355; baconers £2 58. £2 6s.
