Reference has frequently been made as to the tremendous development of the cheese industry in iaranaki, and in thm connection ft is interesting to note that twenty yeans ago the total export oP cheese from the whole of the Dominion was £99,626, while during the last month of the old year and that for four -weeks only, Patea« export for South Taranaki alone reached the huge sum of £176.718; furthermore, for the week ending 2nd February Patea exported more cheeee than the rest of fhft ports together, the value of Patea's output being £70.326 and other ports £49,049.
