"That the firebell and tower be erected on the present 6ite of the &itf tower and that prices for erection of the now tower be procured trom local tradesmen, and that Councillors Blenkhorn and Dempsey and the Mayor be empowered to deal witTi this matter on behalf of the Council, and that the old tower be removed to the reserve for th© use of the fire brigade for practice purposes," was moved by Councillor Dempsey at Wednesday's meetinge of th Levin Borough Council, seconded by Councillor Blenkhorn, and passed unanimously. There was no discussion, the recent borough election apparentlyhaving broken the flow of eloquence on the well-worn Bubject.
