N.Z. FARMERS ; CO-Oi'EßAl'lVli iJIMTRIBUTLNG COMPANY, LTi>. WEEKLY PRODUCE REPORT. ATellingtou, April 2U The market ior potatoes lias eased somewhat during the past week and ample supplies are available. There is lair trade passing in onions. Oat values in the South have dropped 2d per bushel, doubtless consequent on tanners who cannot hold placing their lines on a somewhat dull market. Should, -the" prohibition of export to Australia be raised, a sharp advance would undoubtedly result. In any case wo anticipate that prices will rise. Chaff of good quality is now obtainable from South, and the market is steadier. There is a fair business being done in wheaten straw chaff for dairy cows. Porkers are in excellent demand also other weight pigs. Honey is wanted in largo supply. Cheese is firm, and butter has further advanced for separator lots. Savoy cabbage are in short supply, and choice lines are readily bought up. Other varieties meet only fair sale. Choice cauliflowers are in short supply, and satisfactory prices are-'ruling, hut others are dull of sale. Beetroot and red cabhago are selling readily. All root vegetables meet good demand. Ironbark pumpkins meet fair competition, but others meet poor 6ale. Lettuces remain short in supply, and high prices are ruling for choice lines. Spring onions, leeks, and celery are selling freely. Marrows meet fair sale only. Swedes are jlull of sale. . There is no change to report in cooking and dessert apples since last week. There is a brisk demand for quinces and prices have advanced. Cooking pears are selling freely, while dessert lines are ruling at last week's rates. The demand for tomatoes is a little better, but badly graded lines are hard to quit.
