Uarley, 2j- to bualioli,; 2 to 2iJ, bushels; buckwheat, or brauk, li bushels; cabbage (drumhead), to transplant, 1 lb; caniwy, 3 pkgs; canut in drills, S to 12 lbs; clover, 14 to 17 lbs; furze or gorse, for feed, 20 to 24 bs; do. lor single-line fencing, to sow one mile, 3 to 4 lbs; kohl rabi (turniprooted cabbage), to transplant, 1 lb; do., drilled, 4 lbs; linseed, for flax, 2i bushels; linseed, for seed, 1} bushels, lucerne, broadcast, 20 lbs; do., drilled, 15 lbs; mustard, white, 1 pkt; mangold wurtzel, 5 lbs; oats, 3 to 4 bushels; parsnip, 10 lbs; rape or cole, 1 pkt; rye, 2i to 3 bushels; rye grass (il' drilled, one-fourth less), 2 to 2J bushels ; sainfoin, giant, 5 bushels; tares, winter, 2i bushels; do., spring, 2 t<< 2i bushels; tri folium incarnatuwi, 24 lbs; turnip, 2 to 3 lbs; turnip stubble, 4 lbs; wheat, 2J to 2i oushels. LAYING DO WW A LAWN. When it is desired to form a lawn, the ground should be trenched as directed for the vegetaoie garden any time during the autumn. If the plot can be prepared in March, a season may be gained by sowing the grass seed during that month; Elie surface must be thoroughly pulverised and trodden down firmly. The following is a good mixture, il procurable: —
Created Dog-tail, 2lUt<; I'estuca teniii--I'olia, 41bs; Eestuca diiruscula, 21bs; Loliuin tenuifolia peronne, 201bs; White clover ,21bs; Trifoliuni minor, 81bs; Poa JS'e moral is mid Seiiipurvin.-ns libs of each. This mixture will uffice for half an acre, and will form a very good lawn, and it kept cut close answers most soils. Special mixtures for laying down lawns may also be nad from any seedsman. Some of our native poas and other grasses would answer admirably ior lawn purposes. If the ground is ot a retentive nature, sowing the seede should ue deferred till August. Commence to cut as soon as the machine will act. Some orvfer the scythe for the first time ol cutting. "R<">T i n mowing: this will save the knives ol the mower.
