At the Addington live stock market there was, a considerable lulling off in the entry of fat lambs and an increase in fat sheep; other entries were abou' up to the average. There was a good attendance. Store sheep sold at last week's rates the passings being numerous. 1 ( at lambs were very dull of sale. Fat cattle showed a decline of os per 1001b., and fat sheep are doivn 3s and 4s per head.
Store sheep :—lnferior merino lambs 3s 3d to is; good 2-tooth ewes. 1(3« 3d to 17s good (i-tooth ewes to 15s 4d; fair two, four and sis-tooth ewes 10s -Id to 12s 8d; two to lour and six-tooth ewes to (is 2d; fair sound moutii ewes tis; in ferior ewes, 3s (id to ss; good forward four and six-tooth wethers, los 3d to 18s ; fairly good nethers lis 6d to 13s 6d; inferior ewes 3s (xl to 4s; fairly good lambs. 6s to 9s.
Fat Lambs:—Extra prime show limbs to 235; prime lambs, 14s Gd to 18,s; others 8s to 14s.
Fat Sheep:—Prime wethers 18s 6d to 22s 9d ; others 13s 6d to 17smerino Trethers 7s 3d to 9s 3d; prime ewes ISs to 22s 6d ; medium owes 10s 6d to 14s 6d; others 5s 8d to 10s.
Fat Cattle:—Extra- steers to £15 os ordinary steers, £7 5s to £9 17s (3d; extra prime heifers to £11; ordinary boilers, £5 15s to £8 ss; extra prime cows to £11 10s; ordinary cows, £4 18s to £7 15s. Price of heel, per 1001b.. 23<, to 255.
•Store Cattle There was a small and poor entry and dull sale. Fifteen to 18-months sorts made 4os: 2year stores £3 10s; 2-year heifers £3 B.t; 8-year steers, £7 10s; dry cows. 25s dairy cows £3 10s to £13.
Pigs:—Choppers (practically unsaleable). 40s to 70s; extra heavy baconprs to 69s 6cl; heavy baconers 57s 6d to 65s ordinary baconers 48s to sos. Price per lb 5d to s§d. Extra prime porkers. to 40s heavy porkers, 32e to 365; light porkers 27s to 30s Price per lb lid to 5Jd.
Store Pigs:—Large stores 25s to 31s 3d ; medium 17s to 245; smaller 8s to 17s -wenners le 6d to 5s bd.
BURNSIDE MARKETS
Dunodin, April 21
At Buniside 206 fat cattle were yarded. The entry was in excess of requireniente, and competition wa6 not keen but towards the close of sale bidding ing became a little brisker. The yarding generally was of medium quality, and a good number of pens were passed unsold. Prices showed a drop of 10s to 15s per head, as compared with last week. Best bullocks £13 to £14; extra prime to £15 7s 6d ; medium to good £9 to £11 10s; best cows and heifers £8 to £9; extra prime to £10; medium £5 to £6 10s.
Fat Sheep:—244o were penned. The rarding for the most part consisted of medium and inferior quality ewes, very few pens of really prime sheep coming forward. A large number held over from last week were included in today's entry. Really prime sheep sold at about last week's rates, but for med inm and inferior quality prices showed a decline of about 2s per head, and in "onio cases even more. A good many pens of this class failed to elecit bids, ns the yarding was in excess of butchers' requirements. Prime wethers.. 22a to 24s ; medium to good 19s 6d "to 21s; others 16s to 17s (3d; best ewea 15s to 16s 6d; extra heavy 22s to2Gs. Lambs:—soo were penned. This was a small entry, and prices were much on a par with laet week's reduced rates Bast lambs 16s to 18s ; extra to 19s 6d; melium and unfinished 10s to 14s. Fat Pigs:—There was a medium-siz-ed yarding of fat pigs, which were easier in price than last week. Very few storea came forward, and this accounted for a alight improvement in the demand.
