.Messrs Huswell Bros, draw attention to their new advertisement on page 3 of tliis issue. They talk straight and state that the era of cheap groceries in this townTs not caused by the war. But they, by putting a stop to loujj-winded credits, have been able to offer the cash customer goods at prices that never before existed in this town. Their advertisement is well worth perusal. The alarm-bell on Queen-street railway crossing has been working irregularly to-day. and various alarmed equestrians and trap drivers have pulled up their Horses suddenly and strained their eyes to view railway engines that were nowhere in the vicinity oi the crossing.
