The Catholic Concert.

The crowd that turned up to hear the Catholic concert at the Town Hall last evening taxed the capacity of the hall to the utmost. A little after 8 o'clock all the seating accommodation was occupied and late-comers were compelled to stand. The program me was of the Al class, and its redition by tTte performers meritorious. Miss Kilsby and Miss Nicholson sang finely and each had to give another song. The singing of "Off to Philadelphia" by Mr Eccleton so pleased the audience that it called loudly for "It's a Long, Long Way to Tippcrary," and Mr Eccleton

lad to make a second appearance. A

humorous recitation by -Mr H. McDonald resulted in his ibeiug encored twice, and the people seemed loth to let him off even at that. The following is the

full programme: Pianoforte solo, Miss Quill ;song, Mr A. Mottershead; song. Miss O'Farrell; recitation (encored) Mr H. McDonald ; song. Miss Kilsby. (encore "Maggie, the Cow 6 are in the 'Clover"); song "Sing, Sweet Bird,"

Miss Olga Nicholson (encore "End of a Perfect Day").; recitation "Crossing the Bar," Miss M. Bishop. Part 11. Song, J. L. C. Merton; song, "Tho Last Rose of Summer," Miss Kilsby; song, "Off to Philadelphia in the Morning," Mr W. Eccleton (encore "It's a Long, Long AVay to Tippcrary"); song, Mr R. Mottershcad. Miss McLoavey was accompanist. Just before the conclusion of the programme Father Henri thanked those present for th'eir support and tile contributors to the programme for making it sueh a success. He also expressed thanks to Major Samuels, O.C. at the training camp, for his kindness in giving the troopers leave. After the concert a splendid supper, provided by Mr WooTTer. was served, and the floor was cleared for dancing.

A large number remained for this and

had a most enjoyable time. Mrs Fairs played the music for the dances in excellent st'vle. Mr A. McLeavev was M.O.
