Military Sports

A GREAT SUCCESS. The military sports held yesterday, afternoon on the racecourse proved as juiticipated a great success. Early |t the afternoon a large number of people commenced to wend their way towards the course and by. three o'clock the attendance was a large one. A total of £29 15s was taken at the gates, and as Is admitted to all parts of the ground, the amount indicates the presence of over 500 of the general public besides the 400 troopers. The result should be gratifying to the Officers' Spoi-te Committee and the Citizens' Sports Committee who worked so hard to make the tournament a success. The receipts wiTl be paid into the Belgian Relief Fund.

The sports proved interesting and the various competitions were Followed keenly by the people. The rifle exercise, in which four squads competed was watched closely, but the in'ople did not pick the winners.
