The Full Court gave .judgment in Wellington this morning on the final question in the election cases. It held thai the electoral foil is not conclusive where the question of status is concerned. but is conclusive where the irregularity i« one of procedure merely.
The common seal of the Levin Borough Council is to be attached to the memorandum of tranfer dealing with the pipe line through Mr L. A. Barron's property—part of lot 10a of tlie Native Land Court subdivision known as Horowhenua 3E"No. 2. Councillors Mackenzie and France were appointed last night by the Council to sign the transfer on behalf of the Council. Councillor Matheson announced a.fc last night's meeting of the Levin Borough Council that ho does not intend to seek re-election to the Council at forthcoming elections. Other cdTTlicillors retiring are Councillors Prouse, Parker and Mackenzie.
The military sports committee lias the arrangements for the sports tomorrow well in hand. Given line weather there should be a large attendance to support tlie object in view, which is to raise further mone.vs Tor the Belgian Relief Fund. The bands from the Boys' Training Farm at Weraroa will be in attendance. The horse jumping competition for officers and civilians, tlie 150 yds race open to civilians, and the tliread-the-needle race also open to civilians promise to excite keen competition, mid thci committee has decided to accept entries for these events on the ground to-morrow. The Mayor has requested the business people to close at 12 o'clock a<? the sports will commence at 1.30 sharp. One shilling will admit visitors to all parts of the ground.
