There is a repetition of the mysterious robberies which occured a year ago, and there is a further disappearance of bags containing notes, gold and silver of a value of £550 from the tramway depot's strongroom. The police are unable to solve the mystery. Melbourne. This Day. A deputation from the Chamber <>t Manufacturers asked the Rt. Hon. A. Fisher to impose a surcharge of 25 per cent on enemy goods for ten years after the war. Tt also suggested a three-schedule tariff on Canadian lines. This would provide preference for British goods and lesser preference for most favourable nations and ordinary tariff against enemy goods. Cabinet consideration is promised. Adelaide. This Day.
