Massrs J. G. Cobb and Maurice Cohen are the lonly two candidates nominated for election to the Wellington Harbour Board as representatives of the boroughs and counties oii this coast. As there are two vacancies existing, no poll will be necessary, and Messrs Cohen and Cobb are duly elected to membership of the hoard. A dispersal sale of the well known Te Auto herd of Shorthorns, one of the largest and best of its kind iu the Dominion, was held ou Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Nearly 400 head of pedigree cows and bulls were catalogued and the sale realised over £ln,ooo, which is believed to be a record for the Dominion for one sale. Buyers wore represented from alt parts of the Dominion and Australia. The highest prices realised were 310 guineas, 195 guineas, and lol) guineas for bulls and 270 guineas, 2(iu guineas, 240 guineas, 160 guineas aud 150 guineas for cows. A united religious service will be held in Levin next Sunday week, 25th April, on the Domain at 3 o'clock. The Friendly Societies are invited to take part, and some already nave signified their intention to take part. The primary object of the service is to make intercession on behalf of peace. The Revs. H. T. Stealey. A. O. Randerson, W. H. E. Abbey and Captain Brown (Salvation Army) will officiate, and the Mayor of Levin will preside. The three local bands are invited to lead the musical portion of the service. There will be a collection taken up and the net proceeds will be given to the Belgian Funds. The Rev. W. H. E. A*bbev has drawn up a syllabus of subjects for special addresses which he purposes giving during the winter months. To-morrow at the morning service the first" of a series in the "Prodigal Son" will be taken, while in the evening the Bubject will be "The Modern View of" the Bible." Prior to the address Mr Abbey will give a ten-minute address on "Constantinople—the City of War Shadows." Everybody is cordially invited. Miss Netta Smith will sing a solo at the evening service'; Mr W. H. Field. M.P.. has received from the Postmaster-General a letter concerning mails from Levin to Ohau and Manakau.
