The ordinary monthly meeting of tlie llorowhenna County Council was held in the Council Chambers, Oxford-street Levin, o" Saturday. There were present: Councillors G. Watson (chairman), G. N. Stephenson, jc . W. Venn. G. P. Cately, G. A. Monk, F. C. 'letter, J. Kebbell, and H. Freeman. It was decided to make enquiries regarding the by-laws suggested by the Wellington Fire Underwriters' Association lor the storage ol dangerous goods. The question of the cost of lighting at Shannon to which attention waft drawn by Mr AY. M. Councillor Retter moved that steps be taken to take tlio continuation of Tararua road under "The t'nblic Works Act," and to effect the closing of the road in Messrs Roe and Bartholomew V subdivision. Notice of motion was given by Councillor Cately that he will move at next meeting of the Council that the hour of meeting lie 11 a.m. tor the months of June. July arid August.
