N.Z. FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVK jJiSTRIIiUTING COMPANY, LTJ>. WEEKLY PRODUCE REPORT. '\Yclliny;ti)ii. .Starch "J~>. The potatoes market lias lirmed considerably during the last lew days, no doubt owing to the net weather we are having preventing local digging. We anticipate that to-day's prices will not hold for any length ot time. Onions are now at bedrock rates, and a.s the quality i.s quite rsatisl'actor.y, the.v are quite good buying at the present time. Wheat shows sings of weakening. Oats have fallen considerably, owing to the Government prohibiting the export ol same. If, however, the published figures stating that tliere is a shortage of Irom three to four million bushels is correct, the price will doubtless abvance again. A strong demand still exists for Algerian oats, thouglicalues ol same may ease in a month or so. Linseed oil cake is in exceptionally good demand, it being one of the cheapest stock foods now obtainable based on the unit o!' feeding values. Chaff is offering very sparingly, and the general opinion is that the price will go "higher. Hay is particularly scarce. Porkers are in good demand, but suckers and slips aro dull of sale, and we recommend our clients to hold them until marketable as porkers. Eggs have bade a further advance, while cheese is exceptionally firm. Fruit.—The demand tor choice dessert and cooking apples is easier. Pears are dull of sale. Auckland , passion fruit are arriving regularly, and rallies are lower. The supply of tomatoes from the Hutt is now lull in swing, and the demand is fair at lower prices since last report. Grapes are meeting ready sale. Vegetables. — Cabbages are meet inn better sale. Choice 'lines of ea.dlflowers meet keen competition, and larger supplies are wanted. Croon peas and' beans sell readily where <|iiality is right. Swedes are enquired lor at slightly better rates. All root vegetables are in goocl demand.
