N URSES FOR THE FRONT

Fifty nurses who are to go to the front under an arrangement with the Imperial authorities left by the 11-oto-rn a. for London to-day. They wore given a great send-off. A number ol buildings were decorated and there was a large crowd on the Glasgow wharf. There was much cheering as the vessel moved off shortly after noon. Sir Joseph Ward addressed the nurses on the wharf, and on behalf of the Patriotic Society presented Miss McLean, Assistant-Inspector of Hospitals, in charge of the party, with a bouquet. Jupp's band played a number of airs at the vessel's side. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. Napier. This Day. A motor cyclist named Augustus W. Hodgkinson. a former resident of Master ton, and recently of Haveloek North, was killed as the result of a collision with a trap last nigbt. He was riding on the wrong side of the road and swerved to the left just.an he readied the trap, and a terrific impact reunited Hodgkinson died on the way to the hospital. THE PREMIER INTER VIEWED.
