GAIN MAINTAINED. Pans, April 1 Official.-—The Germans counter- itlacked at Boislepetre and recovered a portion of the position, but were dislodged and our gain was entirely maintained. The enemy counterattacked at daybreak with several battalions, and succeeded in regaining .some ground, but was dislodged at 8 o'clock. At Parroy fighting between outposts resulted to our advantage. Our airmen on Tuesday night dropped 34 bombs on the railway station and the enemy's bivouacs at Woevre, Champagne region, Soissons, and in Belgium. On Wednesday the maritime station at Bruges and the aviation en nip at Gits were bombarded successfully. Army men killed, 151; wounded 395; missing, 14. Paris reports that mine warfare on the front from Dompierre to Peronnc continues. We exploded a German observation post north of Berryaubac, and .the prisoners taken at Boislepretre numbered I<lo- All German "counterattacks were repulsed. A battalion of Landwelir attacking in the region of Depairo.v were repulsed with heavy loss. The British casualty lists for March included 1081 officers and 18,791 men. whereof 390 officers and 110(5 men are dead, 2031 men missing, and 3232 prisoners.
