Tt was further stated that Riindle had spent £l~> since morning. Defendant denied carrying liquor for those prohibited. The constable asked ;.lso that a prohibition order be issued. The Bench granted the order, and also inflicted a 20s fine. •Only about half-a-dozen Indies attended the annual meeting of the ! Otaki Ladies' Hockey Club, held' on j Friday night last, and the majority of tlio.se present were non-playing meinhers. It was decided to postpone Iho meeting indefinitely, the officers in the | meantime to endeavour to rouse a little more interest among the local girls. It would be a great pity to allow the cluh to die, after such a successful career, and it is Tioped that the girls of the town will interest themselves, and make a move towards resuscitating the club.
