Shannon Notes

Mr Day, of the railway service, is. leaving Shannon for Te Huro where lie "ill have the position of tablet porter. Mrs Day lias been an energetic Church worker in the Von Bede's congregation and was farewelled by- her friends at the vicarage last week. The Rev. C. Palmer, on behalf of the Ladies' Guild presented Mrs Day with a duchess set «nd a handsome cushion as a farewell gift. Mrs Day suitably acknowledged the present. A pleasant time was spent in games, and there were various competitions Miss Phyllis Gunning being the winner.
Mr Vickers, buyer ' for the Wellington Meat Export Company, leaves ■Shannon for Levin in a few days. The Anglican Church will lose another good worker in Mrs Vickers who lias been very assiduous in her duties as organist for a long period.
Mr C. Dunckley, of tlie postal department. has been recently visiting his old friends in Shannon. He is at present stationed at T-plago Bay.
Miss May Diuickley lias returned fioin lipr holiday and lias very much benefited by the trip*-
