Wellington, March 18,

Tho market for potatoes remains steady, and the supply good, and keen competition prevails for choice lines. Onions are now available from South at lower rates, aud fair business is passing. Wo still continue to quote fowl wheat at 7b (id bushel, which is below landed cost from the south at the moment. We do not intend to increase tho price as long as ouir present stock lasts. Very little business is doing in oats, on account of the Government placing embargo on shipments to Australia. Barley has advanced 6d l>or bushel since las report. Good business continues to b© done in grass seed. The demand for chaff is well maintained. Wheat etra wis plentiful but oaten is very scarce, the dry weather being responsible for the fact that farmers require their own stock teed.
