LEVIN DISTRICT SCHOOL
CONCERT
After a long wait the children of the Levin District School had the op portnnity last night at tlie King's Theatre of giving their share, a big share, of assistance to the Belgian Belief I 1 unci. For their effort they decided to repeat the successful concert given by tliein some few weeks before Christmas, and with but slight alteration the programme last evening was the same, but the performance, if anything, was flinch bettor and from the start to tlio finish tlio large audience, which occupied all the seating accommodation mid nearly all the standing room, was well pleased, especially with the action t>ong "The Coach and Four," the song with a moral ''Three Little Pigs," the sketch "The Quack Doctor," and the "Birdies' Ball." Tn the hoop drill and song, the Indian club drill and the physical drill • the scholars kept (>.\cellent time and were deservedly applauded. An addition to the original programme was "The Germaii Spider and Belgian Fly." The spirited answer of the latter to the well-known invitation satisfied everyone that, the spider is going to have some difficulty about obtaining breakfast. Another item added to the programme was a comic kinema picture put on by the theatre proprietary. H pourtrayed the scheifies of a young couple to overcome the opposition of the girl's father to the wedding. As usual dad fell in or rather was shoved into the water, and after being rescued, things went along alright.

At the interval Mr E. S. Lancaster, chairman of the Levin School Committee. thanked all those who had assisted to make t.lie concert- a success; urn! n vote of thanks to the teachers and the children was passed by acclainatiep.
