Levin War Club and Soldiers' Friend Society held its first general riieetinolast night, Major Bu-rlinson presidium. Some interesting limelight views of prominent military men amongst the Allies were displayed by Mr Hudson ot the Boy*' Training Farm, and the first chapter of a history of the war was read by Major Burlinson. Arrangements were made for the writing of a circular letter for despatch to all members of the Expeditionary Force who enlisted from Win district. It is intended to forward letters of this description at regular intervals as a proof to the lads at the fron* that their services ou our behalf are appreciated by all those who perforce remain at home and avoid the hardships and dangers of the campaign. .Vest week the club will meet at the King's Theatre, the uee of which u« B been given gratis by the lessee. The club passed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Fnrland for hie kind offer.
