AJSiNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Levin branch of the Y.M.C.A. was held "n the I.M.C.A. rooms on Monday eveniug. There was a fair attendance.
Mr J. Gibson, president of the Society, occupied the chair.
The annual report for the past year stated that the year had been a strenuous one. The average attendance at the Bible class under Mr J. Prouse had been well maintained. The ladies' auxiliary proved of immense value te the Association, and its members worked so well that the Association was enabled to pay off the debt, and to these willing and most successful helpers undor the charge <>i MewUimes
Clark i.ind Walker, the tendered its heartfelt Uuiuk,. through the painstaking work ol Mr the boys' department was held together for the session, in iacl without his aid.it would have lasted only i< few weeks. The brunch was represented by its president at the annual convention which was held at Auckland. The .Vsfioeiation is proud of the ''let that a dozen or more of ite members and ex-members are with the Expedit ionary Forces in Egypt, or in training at the camp lor reinforcements, and are among the fittest men who have heard the call of the Empire. Among those in Trentham camp is Mr F Haste late secretary and treasurer to *he Association, ami a minute , was placed on the books of the Association at the last general meeting, recording their high appreciation of the good work done by Mr Haste Mid. wishing him a .safe return to New Zealand. The Association also extends its congratulations to its late member, Mr James Cameron, from whom tidings still come to hand from America. After hearing Mr -J. Lang it was decided to do something to help him in his work in India. Mr Lang's visit was all too short; it would be better if men like Mr Lang eoiuld spend more time to follow up their appeal. To all those who helped during the year the Association tenders its sincere thanks, Mr ibson stated tnat the debit which had come to them from the previous year had been paid off and there was now a credit balance of about 15s in hand. The following officers were electeJ: President, Mr ibson (re-elected); vicepresidents. Messrs T. Dawson, J Prouse. F. E. Parker. Rev. W. H. E. Abbey. Rev. A. C. Randorson and Captain Brown ; secretary, Mr G. Dawson: treasurer. Mr W. Walker; board members: Messrs J. Rawson, W. Ransom. D. Braid, W. Foskett, T. G. Vincent, G. McGregor: auditors: Messrs A. Sim and F. E. Parker. Votes of thanks were passed to the members of the ladies' auxiliary, Mr G. MeGie.gor( gymnasium instructor), the ex-president (Mr J. Prouse) for the use of the rooms, and the press. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the president. Mr Gibson, for his services during the past twelve monthe.
