In tlie Supreme Court, 011 "Wednesday morning, His Honour, Mr Justije Chapman, heard an appeal from ;he decision of Mr J. W. Poyton, S.M.. in a licensing case in which John Baglie was the informant and Matthew J. Suhan, licensee of the Levin Hotel, -defendant. Suhan was charged wirh unlawfully keeping his premises open for the sale liquor at a time (10.30 p.m. 011 July 2, 1913) when such prenii.s warc required by law to be closed. T' c Magistrate ,after hearing the evidence, dismissed the information, and u;;e Crown now appealed against this decision on the ground that it was erroneous in law. Mr H. H. Ostler, of the Crown Law Office, appeared for the Crown, while Mr T. M. Wilford appeared for respondent. After hearing leg:il argument, His Honour reserve'! ' decision.—Dominion.
