Messis Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report.—At Levin on Friday good entries of all classes of stock were offered Imt competition was anything hut brisk and the majority of lines failed to change hands under the hammer, a fair amount of business being done after the sale, however, at the following quotations.—

Sheep.—"Fat ewes 17s Id to 20e; fat wethers '225; forward ewes 14s Id; 2-tooth withers 16s 7d to 17s 3d; 2tooth ewes 15s to 17s P.m. ewes 7s to 10s; lambs o.s to 8s 6d.

Cattle.—Fat cows £C 10s to £7 10; .forward cows £4 3s to £4 18s; weaner steers (good) 35s to £2; mixed weanere 275; weaner heifers (good) 30s; heifers in calf XI to £4 10s; empty 3-year heifers £3 IBs.

Ltcl. report having held their ustial' weekly sale at Levin yards on Friday when thoy offered to a fair attendance of buyers a good yarding of botii sheep and cattle. Business was slow and the sale right through lacked animation. However, nt the end t>l the day mos! of the lines which were passed by auction were disposed of privately. The principal sales were as under : — Sheep.—Good-skinned 2-tooth wethers 17s to 18s; 6-tootTi to f.f.m eyes 17s Id ; good 2-tooth wethers 16s 6d; medium 2-tooth wethers I4s 6d to 16s; forward 4-tooth wethers 19s; 2-tooth to β-tooth ewes (smnll) iss 9d : good woolly lambs 10s 3d; s.m. owes 10s 6d to 11s 5d ; shorn lambs 7s to 8s (3d ; heavy fat ewes 20s: ligTTt fat ewes 17s 9d. Cattle—Fat cows (medium) £6 2s 6d to £7 13s; forward cows £4 to £5 2s ; forward bullocks £8 ss; cull cows and calves £3 os; yearling steers £2 12s: 3-year-old-steers £7 ss; 18-months heifers in calf £3 16s; weaners 28s.
