Potatoes of ox-col lent quality continue to arrive in increasing quantities, ana tiie market iia« eased somewhat. We do not look for any pronounced increase lor some months to ooine. Onions are now arriving regularly and are ol : good quality. 'iiie present low price is facilitating considerable business. Fowl wheat has advanced a further tid per bushel during the past weeK and now stands at 7s od per bushel, F. 0.13. Lyttleton. We are however, (selling our stock at this price ex store here, and do not intend to increase the price so long as our present supply lasts by which time we hope tiie position will have eased somewhat. The market for oats is still firm, but the luture is uncertain. Meanwhile the demand tor Australian continues, and this is keeping the market up just now. Maize has further advanced. Pollard is scarce. A fair amount oi business is now being transacted in Chaff and excellent lines are available. We have special enquiries for oaten straw for stock feeding in the dry districts. Grass seed is in good demand. Eggs have fallen 3d per bozen during the week. New senson's honey is being enquired for. l''ruit.—Dessert pears meet fair competition, while quality is right. Choice dessert and cooking apples are eageriy bought at fair rates. The demand for tomatoes is exceptionally good for this time of year. Grapes are in ready sale. Vegetables.—Cabbages are firmer since last report and choice lines ot' cauliflowers meet keen competition. Green peas are offering 111 small quantities. Beans are higher since last report. Lettuces meet good, demand at staisfactory prices., Swedes are in good enquiry. All other root vegetables are selling well. Celery is selling at satisfactory prices.
