Potatoes of excellent quality continue to arrive in increasing quantities, and the market haa •eased somewhat. Wo <io not look tor any pronounced increase lor some months to come. iSoutharn Onions are now arriving regularly and are of good quality. Tile present low price is facilitating considerable business. Fowl wheat has advanced a further (id per bushel during the past weoK and now stands at 7s od per bushel, F. 0.8. Lyttleton. Wo are however, selling our stock at this price ox store hero, and do not intend to increase the . price so long as our present supply lasts by which time we hopo the position will liave eased somewhat. The market for oats is still firm, but the future is uncertain. Meanwhile the demand lor Australian continues, and this is keeping the market up just now. Maize has further advanced. Pollard is scarce. A fair amount of business is now being transacted in Chaff and excellent lines are available. We have special enquiries for oaten straw for stock feeding in the dry districts. Grass seed is in good demand. Eggs have fallen 3d per bozen during the week. New season's honey is being enquired for. Fruit.—Dessert pears meet fair competition, while quality is right.
