HOROWHENUA BOATING CLUB
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE A well attended meeting of the executive of the Levin Boating Club was held on Friday evening. The Committee reported that a new boat, built by Mr Macintosh, had been added to the plant, also new oars and rowlocks; and the plant is now well up to the requirements of the Club. Com plaint was made about the depth the water in the lake near the boatshed, Tieing only four inches at end of the suids, and much dissatisfaction was expresesd at the recent action of the County Council in loworing the lake. It was proposed to hold a picnic during the Easter holidays, and take the public over free of charge in a motor boat, but owing to the uncertainty s to whether there would be a sufficient depth of water at the boat pier to enauTe -loaded boats to approach with safety, the project was abandoned. 3ir M. J. Suhan was elected a member of fhe Club. It was decided to petition the Minister of Internal Affairs on the matter of The infringement of publci rights on tlie Horowlienua Lake Domain.
