Mr l'\ G. Roe, local secretary of the Fund for the Relief of tlie Poor of (jreat Britain and Ireland and Belgium, has received the iollowing letter from Mr R. W. Siiallcrass, general secretary, Wellington:—"l have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12th inst., together with a remit-
tance lor £3, being donations to ffle above Fund from Constable Longbottom, Weraroa, £1, and It. A. Rolston, Oliau, £2. I duly received yours of me 24th December last with the remitI'anco for £2 as a donation to the One Shilling Christmas Gift Fundi The
amount has been handed to the secretary, but I have not yet received nis receipt for the same. The matter was overlooked after the holidays, and when 1 called upon him to-day, he was away from his office. A receipt will follow early next week. I desire to thank you for your assistance in connection with the movement. The total cash contributions now amount to £66,000, besides which very valuable shipments of food and clothing have been senE forward."
