HARVEST THANKS-GIVING SERVICE « ■ yesterday in the Century Hall the Levin Methodists and tlifeir friends celebrated their liai-vest thanksgiving festivities. Although the morning was a grey one, the decorations in the building and the choice fruit displayed soon liad the good effect <of brightening up the people, and from the first song of praise, everything went with r. swing throughout the day. The Rev. W. H .E. Abbey preacfu'd two excellent sermons appropriate to the occasion. Miss Doris Signal, ot Foxton ,sang finely two -sacred solos, and with several choice anthems by the choir, accompanied by Mr J. "\. Hayfield on the organ, all combined to produce a most harmonious atmosphere. , The large congregation and the liboi*hl offertories proved that they were thankful for the district having escaped the drought which has been so severely felt in otlior parte of the T)> mfnion. On Tuesday ovening in the same hall a conversazione is to he held, when, ■with the attractions of music, song, and story .and refreshments, there should he. a large attendance. The sum required by the Ohurcli is ■£6b, and the trustees hope to receive the whole of the amount.
