[PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION. 3 THE ODDFELLOWS' CONFERENCE. j Eketaiiuna, This Day. The Oddfellows' annual district meeting passed a resolution protesting against the railway accommodation provided for delegates. The arbitration committee appointed 'comprise: Guy, Perrin, Powell, Salek, Guise Ibbotson, Read, Holmes, O'Sullivan, Modely, Bennet, and Clary. The next annual meeting will be held in Wellington in February, 1910. The past officers' degrees were left in the hands ol the District Management Committee, which was also authorised to prepare and draft a special district . - ule and submit it to tho next conference. A uniform system of book-keeping was referred to the board of directors "or a system for the whole of 'New Zealand. Provision for a central fund to maintain members while in the hospital was referred to the district management committee for report to the next conference. The delegates were entertained last night by the local lodge.

Owing to the growing disposition of married men to join the Expeditionary Force and expecting the defence committee to provide for the wives and children, the local committee has decided to write to the Minister for Defence to refuse the services of married men who leave their wives and Families inadequately provided for, until the. services of single men are exhausted. WOOL FOR AMERICA. Wellington, This Day. it has been arranged that licenses for the exportation of merino and black-faced 1 wool to the United States will be issued provided that the wool is consigned to the Chairman of the United States Textile Alliance.
