DALGETY AND CO.

Messrs Dalgety and Company Ltd. report having held their usual weekly sale in Levin yards on Friday 12th inst. when exceptionally heavy yards of both of sheep and cattle caine forward, practhough bidding on sheep lacked animation practically all lines submitted found new owners. In cattle we offered some exceptionally good lines of store and forward bullocks and the sale for this class of stock was animated, high prices being recorded. The principal sales effected' were as under:— Sheep.—soo 4 and 5-year ewes 14s 9d ; 300 failing mouth ewes 8s ■Cd to 8s 8d; forward 4 and 6-tooth empty ewes 19s Id ; 4-tooth wethers 17s sd: 6-too f.m. ewes (good condition) 15s. A heavy yarding of lambs met with fair competition, sales being: Small woolly lambs 78 to 7s sd; good shorn lambs 9s Bd, fat wethers 21s 6d to 225; fat ewes 18s 7d to 19s 4d.

Cattle—Forward 3s-year bullocks £9 10; 3-year store bullocks, fair condition £8 18s; 18-months empty heifers £4 Is 6d; 18-month steers £3 6s 6d to £3 10s; forward store cows £4 4s to £4 16s; 2i-year steers £5 18s to £6 2s; 2-year dairy heifers £3 l'Bs to £4 12s; weaner steers 20s to 225; yearling heifers 39s to 41s; cows in calf £4 Is to £5 10s; springing heifers £6 7s 6d to £7; fat cows, large entry, £6 2s to £7 10s ; bu.lls £4 2s 6d' to £6.
