Dr RadoslavofT, in the Sobranje, declared that the German official enquiry showed that to August the harvest shortage in cereals in Germany will be a million tons. FRENCH AVIATOR'S.FEAT. Paris, Feb. 14. Semi-official.—A French aviator with a machine gunner, chased a Taube. After a few minutes' hot firing the Taube fell in flames with the wings torn f o ribbons. The Frenchman then attacked two other aeroplanes. The first shot struck one and the Frenchman bore down upon it vertically firing 'ncessantly. Suddenly it fell like a stone and the French rose 1500 metres and engaged tho third aeroplane. The latter replied with an automatic rifle and began falling. After a minute it tilted on its left wing and tfie Frenchman volplaned, firing continually . The German was dashed to the ground. The Frenchman was bombarded with shells and returned to the Frenoh lines safely. ANOTHER TRY TO TAKE WARSAW. Amsterdam, Feb. 14. The Kaiser has ordered another effort to take Warsaw this week. WHAT THE GERMANS LOST. Prior to his departure homeward, a German New Guinea official, stated that the Germans spent £100,000 yearly in the development of work and New Guinea trade. The turnover was worth about £600,000 yearly, principally from copra, cocoa and turtleshell, while last year the bird of paradise trade produced £25,000. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. London, Fob. 13. Petrograd reports that things on the East Prussian front between the Lower Niemen and the Vistula are active, and engagements though of small importance, took place a.t five points. In tho Carpathians several of the enemy's attacks were repulsed with heavy German losses near Koczowa. In the egion of Lubwiska and Zavador the Russians took a portion of the enemy's tranches and 500 prisoners.
