According to the last issue of tho Mercantile Gazette the firm of P. Bartholomew and Co. has been formed into a private company limited. Tho new company lias a capital of £4500 in £1 shares held by Messrs P. Bartholomew, P. B. Bartholomew, F. C. Bartholomew and A. Peeve. Tho object of the company is to take over tlie sawmilling business at Weraroa. One of the most, important replaco advertisements that has appeared in the Chronicle lor some time appears on page 2of this issue. It contains tho announcement of the opening tomorrow of- AYalkley's great ,summer sale. This sale is waited for by the many people who know the fine lines of summer goods opened up by Mr Walkley at these sales. This year some exceptional lines in ladies' millinery and dress materials, and in children's and boys' clothing have been purchased by Mr Walkley and have just been opened up and priced at exceptionally low figinjos.
