4 WAIKANAE SALE. Dalgety and Oompany report having held their usual monthly sale in
their Waikanae yards on Tuesday, 9th instant, when offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle to a satisfactory attendance of buyers. Competition for all stock offered was keen and thoy report that at the end of the day, all lines offered were sold. Tho principal sales were as under:— Sheep.—Fat ewes 18s 6d to 19s lOd; wooTTy lambs (good) lis Id; shorn lambs !?s to 10s Gd; medium shorn lambs 6s to 7s 4d; 2 and 4-tooth wethers 17s 3d; f.f.m. ewes 14s; cull ewes 7s. Cattle.—3-year steers £5 17s; forward empty cows £6 ss; empty store cows £4 to £5; yearling steers £3 7s Cxi.
LONDON WOOL SALES. Dalgety and Company Limited have received the following cablegram from their London office under date Bth inst. "For wool sales just closed the total quantity available was 160,000 bales, of which 10,000 were (sold privately, 121,000 bales were sold for Home consumption, 3000 to foreign buyers, 15,000 to America, 17,000 were carried forward and 15,500 were not offered. The list is closed for the second series and no transports have arrived. The gross arrivals amount to about 277,000 balus. Old stocks carried forward total 7000 bales, and -tho net quantity available for sale ie 155,000 hales.
