Tlk> employees at the ?tlii:aiini mill .subscribed £3 Cs Od for the I3el°i>,n Kelief Fund. An accident happened Mi- R. Bright's motor car 011 Moudoy morning. The newlv-tornied road on Plfnnner Terrace near the Albion Hotel had heen converted into puddled clay bv the rain of the previous night and about 8 a.m. the car stuck fast in the stodgy formation. With the aid of sacks and hoards a number of willing hands got the car | out of the ruts. The worst of it is that motors arc now taking the foot paths in this locality to the danger of pedestrians. The School Committee have decided to let the holding of the school picnic this year drop on account of the war. Tt was also resolved to write to the .Education Board and Mr Field.
