Mutton.—Market firm, with improved demand, - especially for light weights. Canterbury sjtl, hicavy-weights sid; Nortli Island s£d.
Lamb.—Good demand continues with market firmer.* On account of the difficulty in obtaining (supplies owing to the delay iii discharging, Canterbury supplies are nearly exhausted. Quotations are nominal. Canterbury, Od, otl:er than Canetrbury 7Jd.
Be»ef.—Market is very firm with stocks of New Zealand 'on hand. Light hinds Gjjd, fores 0 13-Kkl. Of chilled beef there is only a small supply. Hinds 7}d, fores 6Jd.
Butter.—MarkeL is quieter and prices ea-sier. Danish (slow) 142s to 1465; New Zealand 138s to 140s, unsalted occasionally 1425; Australian 131s io 138s; Siberian, no arrivals; Argentine (quietyi34s to 1365.
Cheese.—Market is firm ; prices continue to advance. As stated supplies do not meet requirement#! on account of the abnormal demand. The market is advancing steadily. Canadian (firm, white and coloured) 88s U> 90s, New Zealand, market firm with good demand, white and coloured 80s to 88s. ■It is estimated that Canadian cheese stocks at T.-ondon, Liverpool and Bristol on February 2 were 81,000 boxes as against 123,000 last year. New Zealand .and Australian cheese stocks at London and Bristol on FebrfKarv 2nd were 22,700 crates, as against 12,700 last year.
Hemp.—The market is active with good demand : stocks of New Zealand are small. New Zealand good fair £'28 10s. fair £26 10s. fair current Manila £30. forward shipments New Zealand good fair £26, fair current £30 10s. The output from Manila f or the week was 18.000 bales.
Wheat.—Market is firm, prices oon tinue to advance. Quotations (nominal) Canterbury 645, American 635, Argon tine 63p.
Oats.—Market is firm, but the lemnnd only moderate. New Zealand gn; tons 31s : Argentine 31s.
