GAL AND GENERAL
The death occurred yesterday morning of Mr Walter Manning, proprietor ol the Family Hotel, Otaki, .aged 47 years. The deceased sonic time ago contracted a cold, which was followed by other ailments, and despite the best of medical attention he failed to make a recovery. At one time Mr Manning was proprietor of the Manakau Hotel.
Anyone cycling or motoring from Levin to Foxton must surely regard the corner at HealbcrJoa a very dangerous place. Neither coining from or going to Foxton has tlie driver a view of the load round the corner owing to certain natural and artificial obstructions to the view, and the wonder is thnt there has been no accident to :e----port. Two cyclists returning from Koxton last week had a very narrow escape owing to a silent car approaching, and some drivers of momi vms hare no regard for the speed at which these- dangerous corners are turned.
