BRITISH READY IN EGYPT.

Major MeClymoiit -has arrived, on

route to New Zealand. He declared that the behaviour oT troops in Egypt is quite satisfactory. Tlie stories that a couple men have boon Inirdered for tearing the veils off women is absolutely untrue. Tho troops are having a good time, but are anxious for real work. The organisation, of the British and Australasian! camps is splendid, and work is proceeding with tho utmost smoothness. The Turkish Army is not taken seriously, the general opinion being that it is not keen to fight. Anyhow the British were ready to give them all they wanted.
