THE SLINGSBY CASE.
Judgment in theSlingsby case, cabled on December 2nd, upholds tii© child's case for legitimacy. The judge said they had grave reasons for thinking that the detectives employed before the child's birth, considered the story of the substitution of another child untrue. (In this case, Charles Slingsby sought to establish the legitimacy of Teddy, his 4-year-ol'd son. Two brothers asserted that the mother was living in British Columbia. She went to San Francisco and had a child which was stillborn. She advertised and secured Teddy which she foisted upon Charles Slingsby. A fortune- of £200,000 was inVolvodl.
