EXPLORATION IN NEW GUINEA.

MacAlaiue, a New Guinea explorer, has returned. He states that his

expedition went 700 miles up the Fly river. He describes it as the Amazon of Australasia. It is sixty miles wide at the mouth, 1200 yards at 300 miles, and thirty yards at the farthest point reached, which is two hundred miles 1 from the source.
